Trade Test (Red Seal – Electrician)
Final assessment to qualify as an artisan with a Red Seal certificate, nationally recognized.
- Minimum 3 years workplace experience as an electrician (logbook or proof required)
- OR Completed Electrical NQF 2–4 with workplace experience
Occupational Certificate: Electrician (QCTO Accredited)
Full qualification to become a certified electrician. Includes theory, practical, and workplace modules.
- Grade 9 or equivalent (NQF Level 1) minimum entry
- Preferably Mathematics & Science
- Ability to be placed in a workplace for practical hours
- Duration: 3 years (modular with workplace)
Semi-Skilled Electrician (with Trade Test Pathway)
Skills training for electrical assistants, with option to progress toward trade test.
- Grade 9 or equivalent
- Interest in technical work
- Some prior experience required
- Can progress to full trade test via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
